Public space
Urban environments with a high traffic intensity are often stressful for blind and visually impaired people
challenge to move confidently and safely.
Because the Spatial Planning Act does not regulate the accessibility of public space
it is up to the individual municipality to take a position on this. In practice, this means
that the extent to which there are facilities can vary greatly from place to place.
On the other hand, municipalities are becoming increasingly aware of the need for an accessible city.
